    Rated 4.6 out of 5by 118 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5by Perfect for quietly and and stealth I have used Canon cameras all my life and I still have the original Digital Rebel which my wife uses occasionally because she likes the color of it. I currently have (4) 6Ds. I always carry and USE (3) of them at events as I travel around the world. It's a little smaller footprint than the 5D which allows me to get 3 of them in my bag. I purchased the 6D mainly because of the price point of a full frame camera and the 5D mkII was no longer available. I was skeptical at first. Now... It's mostly all I use and I do have a 1DX, which tends to sit often because the shutter is just too loud for my line of work. The bonus of the 6D which was not a big deal to me at the time of purchase is the built in wifi. My organization is big on social media, and these cameras allow me to shoot, download and post web size images in minutes. It will only download web-size images, but that is all I need for social media. The ability to use and iPad as a remote interface for the camera is also a bonus. I am able to set up the camera on a tripod and control it from another device. The wifi also gives me the ability to hand an art director an iPad/iphone or android device and go take pictures while he watches and gives me art direction from his chair. Only 1 of the 4 have been returned to Canon for a shutter button replacement after a year and a half of use with about 190,000 clicks. The wifi is reliable once you figure out the short cut to make it connect quickly every time you want to use it. I connect primarily to my Andriod device but it works well with iPhone / iPad and other tablets I would strongly recommend the 6D to anyone who needs a quiet versatile camera, with wifi and remote ability that produces great images. Rated 5 out of 5by Fine Economy Full Frame Camera I own a Canon 5D Mk III. We were going to Costa Rica so I let my wife use it. She is into bird photography. She liked it so much she wouldn't give it back ,but she had given me a 7D MK ll for Christmas and used that. It in dark in the forest there and the 5D MK lll outperforms the 7D mk II in low light. Also I had not discovered back button focusing where you divorce you focusing from framing the picture. This is the key to making the 7D a superb action camera.. We were going to Yellowstone so,I bought 6D incase my 7D was not good enough. The 6D was a natural, delivers great low light pictures,is simpler and easier to use than any other full frame,or the 7D. It works like a souped up version of the Canon Rebel and is lighter, simpler and much more economical than any other full frame. The mode button did fall off as many people says it will. Since I discovered back button focusing I use the powerful center focus for focusing on the 6D and then frame the picture at my leisure before pushing the shutter button. This same technique ,tamed the highly complex 7D mk II,so that now I can use all the focusing points. Rated 2 out of 5by Just... okay In my 2+ years with the 6D, I have grown more and more weary of it's Rebel SL1/T5 type focusing system. If you're going to include only one focus point that is worth anything, you need to make it a HUGE megapixel camera so that you can maintain IQ when cropping. Because, with only one real focus point on an expensive camera like this, you are going to do a LOT of cropping, or.... Have really strangely framed images. The sensor is nice, when you can overcome the 1990's style auto-focus system. Wifi? Can't use. I have a windows phone. GPS? don't need. Take out these non photographic features and make the system itself more robust. Better AF PLEASE. Also, the rubber grips are coming loose. For the amount I paid on this, that shouldn't be happening. (Also happening on my 70D). Bottom line... Takes nice images, I like the sensor (though I wish for better DR). But, Canon does NOT make it easy to get nice moderate action images. It's slow, clunky, and not up to other manufacturers standards. Most people would be better off buying from that other company or even the other one that no one thinks about. Or, over pay for the tired camera that is tiered above this one. July 31, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5by Canon 6D 6 months in I purchased the 6D for my wife for Christmas. I have a 5Dmk3 to compare. The image quality is remarkable. Low-light is possibly a touch better than the 5Dmk3. The focus system is very good and for stills and most shots as good as the 5Dmk3, which holds the advantage on sports/action shots. The primary drawback is that the build quality is slightly less. It is much lighter (advantage) and has less metal underneath the skin (disadvantage). Like many other 6D owners, we have lost the cover to the mode dial, but haven't yet lost the Quick Control Dial that others have.. I understand these are easily replaceable, but come on Canon! We have made some use of the wireless capabilities although they are a bit difficult to setup and use (I am an IT person and still struggle a bit getting things to work reliably). If you are looking for a full frame camera at a great price point with excellent picture quality and a few extra bells and whistles, and don't tmind losing a few button covers, I can recommend the 6D.
