The first and still the best hanging file folders, Pendaflex is to file folders as Kleenex is to facial tissues. These are tough, flexible, permanent, and very easy to use. They are made of really tough, thick "paper" with plastic reinforcements at key stress points. They are made to last for many decades of regular use. The extra capacity at the base makes large files fit properly in the cabinet. The metal hanger tabs are far more sturdy than the plastic versions on other brands. The plastic file name tabs are also sturdy and stay put, at the front or back of the folder. Color is a blah green, but this is just fine for most all purposes.
The only thing that could be made better is the cardbiard spacer that holds the folder base open: it is made to slip into slots in the folder's base, but these don't hold the spacers at all securely. The "fix" is to staple the spacer to the base, which requires a heavy-duty stapler to penetrate the spacer and folder material. Otherwise, you'll end up fiddling around with slipping spacers forever!
