Use this adapter cable to connect your inkjet, laser or high speed printer to a computer without a parallel port, or free up the parallel port for a zip drive or scanner. Forget the hassles of IRQ sharing by adapting your printer to USB. If you have multiple printers, you can eliminate the need for a switchbox by connecting each printer to a USB port.
C2G 6ft USB to DB25 IEEE-1284 Parallel Printer Adapter Cable
I was disappointed to learn that our new Windows 7 computer did not have a parallel port for connecting my faithful HP LaserJet 5L. This 25 pin Parallel to USB Printer Adapter Cable was perfect. The computer had no trouble finding and installing the printer.

Cable good, but printer not compatible w/Vista
The cable is fine, and made the connection from my old printer to my newer computer. At which point I discovered there is no driver for this printer for Windows Vista. I was only focused on hooking up the printer, and it never occurred to me that the printer itself was too old for my operating system to deal with. So before you purchase this cable, make sure that your computer can talk to the printer. And if any techie can tell me how to get an HP OfficeJet T65xi to interface with Vista, I'd be so grateful! I can't find anything online.

Would definitely recommend
I am not a tech person at all. I purchased this adaptor to use on an old HP printer to link it to my new HP Vista. It works beautifully and I love it!

Easy and Economical
I was ready for problems when I hooked up my old parallel printer cable with this new adapter, but I couldn't believe how easy it was. The minute I plugged it into my USB port it automatically installed by old HP printer without any problem. Package says it has an installation CD, but none came with mine.... didn't need it. I highly recommend.
