How to Become Tax Exempt with Office Depot
To register your tax exempt status with Office Depot, follow the instructions below:
  • Please complete the following tax-exempt application and include any applicable state specific documentation to support your exemption. Click here for the Tax Exempt Application. Click here for Tax Exempt Rules.
  • For the quickest turnaround, email your completed application and related attachments to our tax department at Tax@officedepot.com.
  • Documents may also be faxed to 561-438-2405 or mailed to the address below:

OfficeDepot.com orders will be taxed until we receive and approve your forms. To obtain a sales tax refund after approval, please email your refund request to Tax@officedepot.com and include your order number/store receipt and exempt Customer ID.

How to Apply your Tax Exempt Status in stores and online

Online, once properly registered, your account will be designated as Tax Exempt and you will not be charged tax.
In stores, advise the store associate of your tax exempt status with Office Depot and provide your Customer ID.
