Love My Shelving
Was very pleased with our purchase. We bought 2 bookcases and they look amazing in my new space. Looks rich and elegant and the price was perfect for my pocketbook! Wasn't too difficult to put together. My husband did use his drill to put in the screws which saved a lot of time. Helps to have an extra pair of hands, but one person could put it together. Have no problem recommending this item to anyone.

Assembly ordeal to handsome end product
I purchased a Sauder shelf years ago.
I don’t remember a problem with its assembly. My adult son remembered one fairly ingenious and simple assembly trick it had which sounded familiar. The new shelf was a true ordeal.
Must admit the directions were incredibly clear. All parts were well labeled. Diagrams were great. Even some humor.
But I will not be buying the third unit I was considering. If I really need it, I will pay the store to assemble it. I belatedly asked and learned they charge a fee to assemble in store or at your home. It would have been worth the money!
I began some assembly. Called him to come help. He worked for a few hours on a work night. I worked on it the next day and got to a place where two people were needed. He came back another day and the two of us worked together. We got more accomplished and it could finally be stood up. This shelf also has bottom doors. Mine don’t quite meet. We can possibly loosen and tighten some screws to adjust them, but too sick of it right now. I spent more time on finishing the attachments to last two shelves and getting them in place. It is a lovely shelf now it’s finished. More accent touches than first shelf. And all the metal parts should make it sturdy. But I would not want to go through that assembly ever again.
For example, there are 12 hidden connectors which once hammered into place with screw inside, require you to use a Phillips head screwdriver inserted at a sideways angle to tighten each screw. Painful! And of course no power tools.
I sincerely hope this shelf lasts for years!

Poor fit of trim
The shelf trim and the trim between the exposed shelves and the enclosed shelves (3 pieces) are way too short leaving big gaps, making it look sloppy. The shelf trim looked so bad I left it off of my shelves but the trim between the enclosed shelves cannot be omitted without it looking worse. I would enclose pictures if I could.
