Sparco Handheld Fresnel Lens Magnifier is rated out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Jager1726 from Don't listen to the other low reviews. Here's why. The surface is not scratched or frosted. It is a Fresnel lens. It is just like a normal magnifying glass lens but it has been compressed down to be flat. This type of lens was designed by a French engineer named Freanel a long time ago for use in lighthouses. Just like most lenses, it has a focal length. You can't just lay it down on the paper and expect it to work. It is handheld. Holding it off the page you will get quite a large magnifying effect. Just like every other product you buy, it works best when you use it correctly. This one is no exception. It works great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by SBMI from Hand Held is the Operative Word It's hand held. Don't make the mistake of thinking you can just lay it on the page.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Confused from I Don't Understand it... Unless there is something I'm missing, the main part of the magnifier is like a frosted glass which makes it impossible to see through it. At first I thought it was a film that I would remove but it is not. I will be returning this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by LindaH from Terrible product! This is a terrible product. I bought the magnifying glass, so that I could see full pages under magnification. The magnifier is plastic and has a scratched appearance which makes everything appear blurry. I have not been able to use the product at all and intend on throwing it away.
