Description

HP Instant Ink is an ink replacement service in which you pay for pages printed, not ink used. Your HP printer orders Original HP Ink when you're running low and ships it straight to your door, so you never have to worry about running out of ink again. Several page plans to choose from, and you can change or cancel your plan anytime. Simply order your $5 Prepaid card today, then choose which plan you want when you enroll in HP Instant Ink Service.

Make sure you have, or purchase an HP Instant Ink eligible printer (see eligible list below). Printer will need to be connected to the internet to enroll and use Instant Ink service.
Purchase the Instant Ink $5 Prepaid Card. This one card includes all of the Instant Ink plans detailed below.
From your home or office, follow the instructions on the card or follow directions during your printer setup. Your prepaid $5 will be credited to your HP Instant Ink account once you have successfully enrolled.
With an HP Instant Ink plan, you pay for pages you print, not on how many ink cartridges you use. A printed page counts the same whether it’s black and white, a color document, or a photo.
Once enrolled, your printer will prompt HP to send you HP Original Instant Ink cartridges before you run out and only when you need it. Ink, shipping and recycling are all included.
You can change your plan or cancel any time. No annual fee or commitment.
Four plans to choose from: 50 PAGES/month for $2.99/month, 100 PAGES/month for $4.99/month, 300 PAGES/month for $9.99/month, 15 PAGES/month for free is also available (15 page plan only available on select HP DeskJet, ENVY and OfficeJet printers).
You can rollover unused pages to the next month, or if needed buy additional sets of pages for just $1.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dill from Completely changed my mindset on printing I dont normally write reviews but I was purchasing a new printer to replace one I currently have and noticed the low amount of reviews on Instant Ink. I have had it on my previous printer for around 4 years now. I do not understand the one reviewers argument about them saving more money buying cartridges in the store. I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 which must be similar to what they have. The ink cartridges are just over $100 for a ~2000 page black. and about 730 page colors. They mention that their plan was the 300 page plan which was more than they needed but that they printed slightly above the 100 page plan. Why not just use the 100 page plan then? You CAN print additional pages. Every 20 pages over is $1. So if you print only 140 pages then its like $7. Why waste money on the larger plan? Plus there is the roll-over. Pages you dont use roll over to the next month. I have a full 300 pages stacked up in my roll over allotment. That person also mentioned the Instant Ink cartridges are larger, they are indeed! Chances are they will find themselves buying ink as I did, about every 8 months. Spending over $100 every 8 or so months and they will quickly find the cost of buying ink in store. Not to mention running out of ink at inconvenient times or having to make sure you have the funds ready to drop a benjamin on some ink. I will just put it this way, before I got my last printer and tried out instant ink I was ready to throw away my printer and never buy another. I was going to just stick to the Office Store print centers. Its been 4 years on Instant Ink and I have not once thought about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NicSherman from Excellent Program!! I personally love this program!! The reason I joined was because I was having a problems with my cartridges drying up! I wasn’t using them fast enough!! Cartridges are expensive! For my particular printer you can’t just use black you have to buy both black and color. That is far more expensive than the less than $50 I am using annually with this program. I only use 50 pages a month so it’s only costing me a few dollars and what’s great is if I don’t use all 50 a portion of the unused goes into a reserve bank so if the next month I need to use more than my 50 I have extra! I love that I can print in color And I don’t have to worry about the cost of any Color ink cartridges. It’s certainly not photo quality printing but it works for me. I am a grad student and I work full-time in the petroleum industry. I occasionally work from home and have to print out presentations this works out perfect for me. If I find that 50 is not enough per month I just go to the next plan and I can change it going forward in the future. I’ve never had one issue with this program. I’m pretty sure I brought the cheapest printer they make for this program and it still does a great job two years later . I chatted with customer service one time because I was having problems with my cartridges, they were streaky. I was afraid they had dried up because the printer had been stored quite a while while I was moving . They tried to troubleshoot the problem for me, then sent the new cartridges out right away no questions asked And at no cost ! For less than $50 a year I think this program is brilliant! I’m sure this is not a money saver for everyone but for me it is perfect! I think this is only good based on your needs for me it worked out perfect for others not so much!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by ladywine from Not worth it. I've used this program for the two years (current date 9/2018) since I got a new printer. Seemed like a great idea. I have two kids in middle/high school, I feel like I print things pretty regularly, so does my husband. Having looked over our usage, we generally print just over 100 pages per month. That means the 100 page per month is too small and the 300 pages per month is WAY more than we need. But I was paying for the 300 page per month plan. Today I decided to go look at the cost of ink to see if I was really saving anything. At the first place I checked, I found that the cost of the black XL and multi pack color was just over $100 (I was paying about $120/year for the instant ink program, and yes, I realize they're supposed to be bigger cartridges). Please note that I have been enrolled in the program for 2 years (a few of those months were on the smaller plan, but for the purposes of my review, let's just figure $120/year for 2 years). I decided to cancel my plan. Here's what I found interesting about the cancellation process...I got an email telling me that the cartridges that I'd been sent from the instant ink program would no longer work after my cancellation date and I should send them back for recycling. Part of the agreement, blah, blah, blah. OK, fine. I'd gotten a box of cartridges back in April of this year, but it was unopened as I hadn't needed them yet. Over the 2 year period, I've paid for what amounts for 2 "sets" of ink, but only used one. Presuming that the cartridges in my printer are nearly empty (since they sent me new ones 5 months ago), I've paid over double what I would otherwise have paid for the ink I've used. Very disappointing. Very not impressed with this program, which, at the moment, I'm feeling like is a rip off. I'm sure it was in the small print, but when I signed up and as I've been going along, it never occurred to me that the cartridges provided were any different than the ones I could buy anywhere. I thought it was just an ink subscription service. I would not recommend the program at this point, for any level of printing. The idea of not having to go run out to get ink is nice, but I'm not willing to pay what will end up being more than double the standard price for the convenience of "never running out of ink". I can never run out of ink by buying an extra set of cartridges and keeping them on the shelf near my printer.
