Sticky Flags
What is a sticky flag?
Sticky flags are used by students and professionals for note keeping. They’re pieces of colored paper with re-adherable glue on one part of the back. People use them to mark passages in books or paperwork, allowing them to emphasize text without having to mark up the document.
For example, if one person needs to get another’s signature on a document, they may mark the points to be signed with sticky flags. Some sticky flags are printed with the words “sign here.”
How do you use sticky note flags?
Sticky flags have re-adherable glue on one sliver of the back. To use a sticky flag, apply the tag of paper so that that adhesive-covered portion is stuck to the part of the document or book that needs to be marked.
If the sticky flag has a tapered arrow shape at one end, make the arrow point to the area to be highlighted. Apply pressure briefly to make sure the adhesive has taken hold. Later, to remove the sticky flag, peel it up gently. Hold the paper on either side of the flag to prevent the pages from tearing.
Can you write on sticky flags?
Some sticky flags are made of paper like standard sticky notes. It’s possible to write on these sticky flags. Other sticky flags are made of a plasticized material, which can’t be written on as easily.
Some people choose to write on sticky flags. However, sticky flags don’t offer a lot of surface area for writing. So, it’s recommended to combine sticky flags with Post-it Notes, which have more space to write on. Sticky flags can be used to mark text, while Post-its can be used for making notes.
What colors of sticky flags are there?
Sticky flags come in different colors, including blue, yellow, green, pink, and red. There are also transparency sticky flags made of a sheer, plasticized material. With these, it’s possible to read the text underneath the sticky flag. A multipack of different colored sticky flags can be convenient for students or professionals who need to mark documents frequently.
