Frequently Asked Questions

What type of fingerprint services do you provide?
At participating Office Depot OfficeMax locations, IDVetting provides two types of fingerprinting services.

It is not intended for employment or licensing purposes.

How long does it take to receive results?
For FBI Background Checks, most applicants receive their criminal history within 1 hour.

For FDLE Submissions, results are sent directly to the requesting organization, not to the applicant. If you want to see your own record, you will need to apply for an FBI background check separately.

I have been fingerprinted several times in the past. Can Office Depot use those prints?
No – fingerprints collected for previous background checks cannot be reused.

Each fingerprinting request must be completed at the time of your application, and prints are not shared or transferred between agencies (state or federal).

Do you accept fingerprint cards?

All services at Office Depot OfficeMax locations are completed using Livescan fingerprinting, which provides faster processing and secure electronic submission to the appropriate agency.

How many times can I download my FBI background check results?
You can download your FBI background check results up to six (6) times within 30 days of receiving them. After 30 days, your results will expire and will no longer be available for download.

What happens if my fingerprints are rejected?
While our fingerprinting process is designed to capture high-quality prints, there are rare cases where fingerprints are rejected due to low quality or being unreadable (illegible).

If this happens, you may be asked to return for a reprint at no additional cost. Our team will provide guidance to help ensure your next set of fingerprints is successfully captured.

Can I get fingerprinted if I am missing a finger?
Yes. You can still get fingerprinted if you are missing a finger. All available fingerprints will be captured, and your submission will be processed according to standard guidelines.
