Small businesses are the backbone of the United States. There are 33.2 million small businesses in the country, employing almost half of all U.S. employees. These businesses are essential to our daily lives in America and are fundamental to the economy of the United States!
So, while we generally see major corporations in the headlines and our news feeds, small businesses and their owners are the unsung heroes of the American Dream.
National Small Business Week typically occurs the first week of May in the U.S. That’s only seven days where we nationally recognize one of the most important pieces of our economy. So, to honor our entrepreneurs’ courage, community efforts, and hard work, we also celebrate Small Business Month for the entire month of May.
Clearly, it is important that that our nation’s small businesses succeed. For small businesses to grow efficiently and effectively, there are tools available to take arduous or time-consuming tasks off your plate. You just need to know they exist, where you can find them, and how affordable they are.
Your goal as an entrepreneur should be to provide a service or product you’re proud of, drive personal connections within and beyond your community, and enjoy the freedom you’ve created for yourself. Small Business Month aims to help entrepreneurs plan, create, and implement smart and efficient business tactics to fuel growth.
With the right tools, you won’t have to work in the dark endlessly — there should always be a light at the end of the tunnel.
