Wood Pencils
There's no need to worry about spelling words wrong, calculating inaccurate figures or making other mistakes when you use a wood pencil. Wood pencils feature built-in erasers that let you quickly and easily wipe away marks without leaving behind smudges and streaks. If you plan on using wooden pencils for multiple hours, consider adding pencil grips, which make every writing experience comfortable and enjoyable.
Wood Pencil Construction
#2 medium-soft lead is the most common type of lead found in most wood pencils. #2 medium-soft leads deliver long-lasting, legible marks that show up clearly on most types of paper. Select a wood pencil with red-colored lead for editing documents, marking up blueprints and checking other papers. Wooden pencils with a hexagonal shape are easy to hold and won't roll off of desk tops when they're placed down.
Sharpened or Un-Sharpened
The main advantage of choosing wood pencils that come pre-sharpened in the box is that they can be used immediately. Select a wood pencil that comes un-sharpened, so you can sharpen the point exactly how you like it upon opening.
Golf Pencils and Elementary Pencils
When quick note-taking is required, golf wood pencils are a perfect solution. Golf wood pencils are much shorter than standard wood pencils, making them ideal for filling out questionnaires, surveys, lottery tickets and other brief forms. If you plan on using wooden pencils in an elementary classroom, provide students with larger-diameter pencils that are easier to hold and control with smaller hands. Wooden pencils designed for classroom or busy office use would also benefit from having built-in Microban protection, which inhibits the growth of germs, mold and mildew.
