great to have when you need one
I was trying to get a M/M DB9, non-crossover cable to connect two ancient pieces of hardware, but all I could find on the OD site was a M/F cable. So I bought this handy little gizmo. It works well for what it is. My only criticism is that it was necessary to unscrew the "nuts" from one end of the thing to couple it to the female DB9 jack on the receiving end. This was a little tricky, as was screwing the "bold" ends into the DB9 jack on the receiving end. Of course, if you know enough to know you need one of these for some obscure purpose, you can probably figure that part out. Just so you know, the "vertical" orientation of the pins is "flipped" top to bottom from one side to the other, though I doubt that matters for 99.9% of the uses you'd put this thing to.

Piece of Junk
I tried to connect to the 9 pin serial connector on an E-Class Datamax printer and the screws are not long enough so you can secure it to the printer.

great product - no kinks
I used the changer at the end of a 50' run of a shielded db9 cable. At the end of the cable I attached a Motorola scanner. Everything worked as I hoped/expected.
