Do Pencils Have Lead?
Lead pencils are often made from a mixture of graphite and clay but have been called lead pencils since the 16th century when graphite was mistaken for lead. While mechanical pencils, like Zebra Mechanical pencils and Pentel mechanical pencils, use #2 medium lead, #2 lead is made from graphite and not from actual lead material. Zebra and Pentel mechanical pencils provide a comfortable writing experience for students and teachers who spend a lot of time with a pencil in hand, as many of these mechanical pencils feature cushioned grips.
Do Bic Pencils Have Lead?
Bic pencils do not contain actual lead material, but Bic offers #2 lead pencils made from a graphite mixture. Bic lead pencils are available in both the mechanical or traditional style, depending on your writing style and preferences. Paper Mate also produces lead pencils, whether you are looking for a standard yellow barrel lead pencil or a mechanical pencil. Paper Mate also offers colored pencils that can help make beautiful and vivid artwork.
