Depending on the CD and DVD collection, your ideal storage solution may vary from individual cases and sleeves to large binder sheets and wallets that allow you to store a wide variety of discs in one location. To ensure your discs stay in near-mint condition, look for durable construction using materials like thick plastic, leatherette or high-density nylon, and look for label slots that enable easy organization.

Storage Layout

While jewel cases and sleeves store one disc at a time, storage sheets and binders can store anywhere from 4 to 200 discs in one location. If you require expandable multimedia storage, consider a media wallet or binder that uses removable sheets; when your collection increases or decreases, simply add or remove binder sheets. If you're interested in media storage discs and drives, consider data storage and media, and for expansive data backup storage, look into tape automation drives.

Material and Construction

We know you want to keep your discs protected from scratches, smudges, fingerprints, minor impact and other damage. That's why it's important to look for media cases made with durable materials. If you're considering a media binder, look for a cover made of leatherette or high-density nylon. If you're looking at sleeves and cases, look for thick rigid or flexible plastic that keeps both sides of the disc securely covered.

Labeling

Quickly identify the discs in your collection using labels. Many media storage cases feature built-in label slots and label holders that let you easily insert a printed or handwritten label. Look for compatible label sizes (like 2" x 2"); it may be possible to purchase printable labels that make it easy to create a large number of labels using your inkjet or laser printer.
