Stabilize a shot and find the right height and angle by mounting a camera on a sturdy camera tripod. Tripods provide flexibility when finding a place to set up a camera and help maintain consistency between photos in a series. Use them to set up precise shots with cameras and camcorders, and consider getting some camera attachments like alternate lenses and flashes to further enhance the shot.

Full-Size Tripods

Full-size tripods are great for setting up family photos, taking pictures of a presentation or taking long-exposure photographs where keeping the camera steady is of utmost importance. They also keep shots stable when filming videos and often have a handle for positioning the camera properly. Mount a camera to a full-size tripod and start framing excellent shots.

Mini Tripods

Smaller tripods are designed for situations where a table, desk or other piece of furniture that can prop the tripod up is already present. These reduce the chance of a camera being damaged from a fall by keeping the camera's center of gravity close to the surface beneath it and shortening the distance between the camera and the surface.

Monopods

Monopods are single-stalk camera mounts that allow you to extend your reach and get the height or angle needed for a shot in less time than it takes to set up a tripod. Some monopods feature a built-in mirror to give the user view of the camera screen when taking photos overhead. Use a monopod for events with large crowds.
