An Alternative to Jackets

Although welding and industrial jackets can provide an excellent level of protection, they aren't always ideal when the weather or warehouse gets too warm. For certain types of dangerous work, sleeves and bibs can provide excellent protection for the arms and upper body, while allowing the worker to remain cooler than he or she would wearing a full-coverage jacket. Look for a bib that attaches to pair of sleeves for more coverage, or sleeves that provide significant protection on their own. Consider the materials, like leather or sateen, and whether the sleeve or bib is heat resistant or flame retardant, to get the best level of protection for the specific type of work to be done.
