Trackball Optical is a whole new kind of trackball that features the IntelliEye™ optical sensor popularized in IntelliMouse™ Explorer. With an integrated sensor tracking movements at a rate of 1,500 frames per second, the trackball has superior accuracy and precision. While existing mechanical trackballs have many moving parts, IntelliEye™ optical technology has 1 sensor, and no moving parts to wear out or break. Trackball Optical is designed for users who prefer to use their thumb to control the trackball. Microsoft® also offers Trackball Explorer for those who prefer a finger-operated trackball.
