The Pentax Optio S40 is a 4 megapixel, 3x optical zoom (4x digital zoom) camera that is loaded with features. Sporting a sleek aluminum housing design, the compact dimensions of the Optio S40 allow it to be carried in a pocket or purse with ease. This conveniently small camera still offers a large 1 3/5" (1.6 inch) color LCD monitor for easy shot composition, picture/movie playback and camera function navigation. For hassle-free shooting in any environment the Optio S40 offers 8 picture modes, which include Flower, Self-Portrait, Surf, Snow, Sunset, Art Museum, Text and Marine. It also has a movie mode, which allows video with sound to be recorded for the full capacity of available memory.

The Optio S40 has a built-in memory of 11MB, so it's ready-to-shoot right out of the box, and for increased image capturing capacity it also accepts Secure Digital memory cards. For easy photo printing with compatible printers, the Optio S40 supports the new PictBridge direct-print standard and is compatible with PRINT Image Matching II.
