Sensitive electronic equipment, such as computers, servers, medical devices, home theater systems and telephone and networking equipment, rely on a steady supply of power to operate. A rack-mounted UPS system protects your valuable equipment during a power outage. UPS systems rely on stored battery power to prevent loss of power to your devices during an outage, so you can safely shut down your equipment or keep working for a few minutes to complete an important task. A UPS system also protects your devices from voltage surges that can sometimes happen once power is restored or during storms. Look for rack-mount UPS systems with a variety of ports, including USB, Ethernet, serial and data, to protect a variety of equipment from power failure. Some systems automatically shut down your devices safely in the event you are not around to do so during an outage.
