Add a scriber, pin vise and pick set to your collection of hand tools to make working with metal, wires and small objects simple. Whether you need to etch guidelines into sheets of steel, make decorative curves in wire while making custom jewelry or separate wires in a fuse box, there are many different options available to make all of your home or work projects a breeze. For other job types, consider a vast array of tools and equipment to complete any task.

Scribers

In metalworking, it's very common for a worker to make marks on materials before sending the workpiece off to be machined. In order to make these marks, a scriber is used to etch into hard materials, like steel, ceramics and glass. A scriber is preferred over a pencil or pen due to several reasons. Lead and ink can be easily erased, smeared or rubbed off, whereas a scriber makes somewhat permanent marks that are easier to see. Scribers come with many different point sizes and types and can also be used to make decorative patterns on materials. Choose a scriber with a reversible scribing tip for safety when it's not in use.

Pin Vises

Wires can be hard to manipulate and deal with using just your bare hands. A pin vise is ideal for twisting and gripping wire. Simply slip the wire into one end of the pin vise and tighten the jaws around the wire. A pin vise is usually small, but larger pin vises are available to accommodate thicker-gauge wires.

Pick Sets

A pick set is extremely flexible and is great for crafting, hobbies and repair projects around the home. You can use a pick set to replace O-rings, clean small parts and remove objects in deep, tight spaces. Choose a pick set with instruments that have knurled handles for comfortable use.
