Is the program free to join and what are the benefits if I do join?
Office Depot OfficeMax Rewards program is a free program – our way of thanking our loyal customers for choosing Office Depot OfficeMax. Simply shop like you always do and get rewarded for it. You’ll get:
- 2% back in rewards on your favorite supplies, furniture, technology and more;
- Members-only savings;
- Rewards for recycling ink and toner cartridges (up to 10 per month);
- Rewards for product reviews (limit 3 approved reviews per month, rewards post within 5 days).
PLUS, members become VIP Rewards Members by spending $500 or more within a 365-day period. In addition to enjoying everyday benefits listed above, VIP Rewards Members also get
- 5% back in rewards on ink, toner, case, ream and photo paper; copy, print and other products/services in store at our copy and print centers (excluding thermal fax paper, paper rolls used in adding machines and cash registers, postage stamps and delivery orders of online purchases of photo products)
- FREE delivery with no minimum purchase required (oversized and special-order items excluded)
- Exclusive VIP perks
Please note that VIP status will be effective 30 days after the required $500 in purchases are posted to the member account. Returned items, the value of free gifts with purchase and the redemption of reward certificates and merchandise/gift cards will not count toward the $500 requirement. Members enjoy VIP member benefits for the 12 months following their VIP benefit effective date.
What are “Members-only savings”?
Throughout the year, members can take advantage of promotions that are available to Rewards members only. Take advantage of instant pricing discounts through Rewards Member Pricing events or Bonus Rewards promotions like 100% back in rewards on batteries or 20% back in rewards on your qualifying purchase, where the rewards you earn are paid out the very next day.
Periodically we will have special bonus rewards promotions where a coupon is required to be used during the purchase. These coupons must be applied for you to receive the extra rewards and are often limited to one transaction. These coupons are used to flag your purchase so our systems can issue rewards in accordance with the promotion terms and conditions. Be sure to read the specific terms for each bonus rewards promotion which can be found on the bottom of the webpage and/or printed on or behind the coupon itself.
How does it work?
When checking out online, be sure your member ID is on your My Account page at officedepot.com. Then, just make sure you're logged in before you check out to earn and redeem rewards.
When checking out in-store, tell the associate your member ID or phone number. The associate will gladly look up your number and ensure that you receive your rewards.
Do I earn rewards on everything I buy?
Members earn 2% back in rewards in store and online on almost every item including technology, furniture, supplies and services. The only items members do not earn rewards on include: Office Depot Marketplace items, delivery fees, postage stamps, gift or pre-paid cards, any services relating to Tech, furniture, marketing or administrative, or any third-party services. How do I enroll?
If you do not have an Office Depot online account, click here to create one. Follow the steps to create your account and join our Rewards program.
If you have an Office Depot online account: log into your account and go to My Rewards (found under “Account” in the top right corner of officedepot.com or on your My Account page). Follow the steps to join our Rewards program or link your existing rewards membership to your existing online account.
Where can I see my rewards?
Rewards are issued as a reward certificate at officedepot.com/rewards. You can also access your certificate on your smartphone or in store by asking a cashier.
When do I get my rewards?
Program rewards are paid out monthly as a rewards certificate when a minimum of $3 is earned. (See below for details on certificates.) Program rewards for everyday purchases and all recycling rewards are available online within 30 days after the end of the calendar month. Rewards under $3 roll over each month until the end of the calendar quarter, at which time rewards less than $3 will not be issued. Calendar quarters are January - March, April - June, July - September, October - December.
Bonus rewards are paid out separately and do not contribute to the calculation of Program rewards. Bonus rewards are issued the next day after the transaction posts. Reward certificates are valid for 60 days after the date of issuance. No extensions or exchanges will be allowed for expired rewards certificates.
How much can I earn in rewards?
There is no limit to the amount of rewards you can earn. You earn 2% Back on almost all items and once you spend $500 in a 12-month period you become a VIP member where you will also earn 5% Back on ink, toner, paper, and CPD services as well as FREE delivery.
How do you calculate my rewards?

How do I redeem my rewards?
When making a purchase online, log in to your account and when you get to the checkout page, click “Apply” next to the certificate(s) you want to redeem. Be sure you are logged in to the account with your linked rewards membership. You can also use our mobile app to place an order, manage your account, and access your rewards certificate. Simply provide your digital rewards certificate to the cashier in our stores.
Are there any restrictions when redeeming my reward certificate?
Reward certificates cannot be used on purchases of any gift or prepaid cards. You can redeem rewards in up to a limit of 3 transactions in store per day, when accessing via our cash registers at check out for redemption. Remaining balances will display on the bottom of your store receipt and online. Rewards Certificates cannot be applied for items that are on backorder.
Can I use my reward certificates with coupons?
Yes. We accept valid coupons when you make a purchase with your reward certificates.
Do my rewards certificates expire?
Yes, you have at least 60 days to use your certificates. Check your certificate(s) expiration date by logging into your online account or by viewing your monthly statement email sent out on the 2nd Monday of each month. Certificates must be used by the expiration date so don’t let your certificates expire – shop today!
What happens to my rewards when I make a return?
Rewards are not earned on returned merchandise. If you’ve already earned rewards on an item but later return it, adjustments will be made to your account. Your reward amount would incur a negative balance which will affect future earned rewards.
What if I forgot to use my member number during an in-store purchase or I didn't add my member number to my online account during checkout?
Log in to your account at officedepot.com/rewards, click Rewards Activity, and then click "Add a Purchase" to request rewards on your purchase. Requests must be submitted no later than 3 days after the end of the calendar quarter in which the purchase was made.
Can I share my rewards with a family member or friend?
Rewards certificates are not transferable and are not assignable for any reason. The sale of reward certificates is strictly prohibited.
Is an online account required to earn or redeem rewards?
An online account is required to earn and redeem rewards online as well as to review your rewards amount and activity.
How can I update my contact information?
Log in to your account then click “Account”. Once on your account page, click “Edit Contact Info and Preferences” link in the “Your User Settings” section. To save your revised information, be sure to click “Update.”
What if I forget my login name or my password?
Click on the “Trouble logging in?” link when logging in. You can access your user name or modify your password by clicking the “Login Name, Password & Security Question” link in the “Your User Settings” section on the My Account page.
How do I get rewards for recycling ink and toner cartridges?
You get $2 back in program rewards for each ink or toner cartridge that you recycle, up to 10 cartridges per month, when you make a $10 qualifying purchase the same month. You can recycle additional cartridges, but rewards will only be issued on 10.
Qualifying purchases include any product or service purchase made in store, online, by phone or fax excluding: taxes; delivery fees; postage stamps; gift and prepaid cards; and purchases made with reward and merchandise certificates/cards.
All brands of ink and toner qualify for recycling rewards.
How can I view my recycling rewards?
Log in to your account at officedepot.com/rewards and click on the "Rewards Activity" link. Recycling rewards will post to your account approximately 5 days after your $10 qualifying purchase is made that month. Be sure to keep your recycling receipts for your records.
When will I receive my recycling rewards?
Recycling rewards are issued within 30 days after the end of the calendar as part of your Office Depot® OfficeMax® Rewards certificate.
Office Depot® Credit Account
Do I get special benefits if I am or become an Office Depot credit card holder?
Office Depot Credit Card holders can link their rewards account with their credit account. They will never miss out on getting their rewards credited. There are also special rewards promotions and special financing offers just for credit card holders!
Did you know you can link your rewards membership to your Office Depot Credit Account?
You can link your Office Depot Credit Account to your Office Depot OfficeMax Rewards membership so you can enjoy rewards and credit benefits with just one card! Visit officedepot.com/credit and follow the steps to link and start enjoying rewards automatically when you use your Office Depot Credit Account.
The Office Depot® Business Account with Full Balance Due Terms cannot be linked to your rewards membership.
I already have an Office Depot Credit Account, but I do not have a rewards membership. What do I need to do?
First, join Office Depot OfficeMax Rewards either in store or online at officedepot.com/rewards. Then, log in or create your online account on officedepot.com/rewards. Click on “My Account” on the upper right section of the page. In the Payment Section, click “Edit Payment Information.” Fill out all the fields. Be sure to check the box that says “Link to My Rewards Account.”
There are multiple cardholders each with their own rewards membership on my Office Depot Credit Account. Can we all link our Office Depot OfficeMax Rewards membership to the Office Depot Credit Account?
No. Only one loyalty membership can be linked to an Office Depot Credit Account. Purchases made by all users of the Office Depot Credit Account will count toward the one linked rewards membership.
