ChatChecker Family Edition is a powerful and easy-to-use parental control system for instant-messaging and chat-room conversations. The ChatChecker service lets you capture and record both sides of instant-message and chat-room conversations on up to 6 PCs in your home. This information is stored on a secure, remote Web site. Once ChatChecker is installed, you can log into that site from any PC with an Internet connection to remotely review instant-messaging and chat-room activity, receive usage summaries, set up or change your watch-word alerts and search conversations for inappropriate content. Whenever a watch-word that you select is used in an instant-message conversation, ChatChecker will alert you by email immediately, letting you know of potentially dangerous conversations as they occur. Recorded conversations are searchable by date, key words or participants. There's a built-in acronym checker too (e.g., POS = "Parent Over Shoulder"). Works with most instant messaging programs, including AOL AIM, Microsoft MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Trillian, MySpace IM, as well as many the third-party IM clients that use these protocols.
