Traditional Oil Paints
Artists can find individual tubes or sets of traditional oil paints in a wide range of colors. Keep in mind that the paint thickness and coloring can vary significantly from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some paints can be used straight out of the tube; others may require a little medium to create a workable consistency. Consider factors like pigment load, lightfastness and the smoothness of the paint. Look for oil paint with few fillers to ensure the greatest quality and vibrancy.
New Oil Paint Products
Go beyond traditional oil painting with supplies that can introduce you to new methods or new oil mediums entirely. For example, we carry an assortment of oil pigment sticks, which resemble pastels or crayons in shape but oil paints in application. Consider water-miscible oil paint, which can be thinned with water instead of or in addition to traditional oil paint mediums and cleaned up with just soap and water.
