The Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS)

- our encryption standard

The Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 is a US government computer security standard which defines the level of security and to approve cryptographic modules, with:

  • Level 1 providing the lowest level of security
  • Level 2 showing evidence of tampering features including tamper-evident coatings or seals.
  • Level 3 – in addition to the tamper-evident physical security mechanisms required at Security Level 2, Level 3 attempts to prevent the intruder from gaining access to critical security parameters (CSPs)

What warranty do you provide?

All iStorage products have a 36-month limited warranty.


What if I lose my PIN?

These devices are highly secure and there is no “back door” code that can access the drive if you lose the PIN. As an Admin user, you can reset a User PIN but you would still have needed your Admin PIN to access the drive.


How long are the PIN codes?

Between 7-15 characters long.


Are the drives dependant on a certain Operation System?

Our products are software free and compatible with a wide range of platforms such as: macOS®, iPadOS™, Windows™, Linux®, Chrome OS™, Android™, Thin Clients, Zero Clients, Embedded System, Citrix® and VMware®


What is the capacity range?

Our devices range from 4GB to 20TB. We also offer a unique datAshur SD drive that takes iStorage microSD cards that allow unlimited storage.


Can I remotely manage my devices?

Our datAshur BT flash drives can be remotely managed. Our Remote Management software enables IT Administrators to remotely wipe or disable user access, restrict the time and locations that datAshur BT USB flash drives can be used, remotely unlock and change user password, view user activity logs as well as a host of additional features.
