I bought an HP Envy 7155 printer. Upon opening the box, it was a HP Envy 5642. It also would not print. Returning to store two days later the manager said he could not take it, I had to contact the general manager. This is ridiculous. They advertise a 14 day window. I called Office Depot's helpline and was told I had to contact the store. I will be contacting my credit card company. Do not buy from these criminals.

I am loathed to give one-star reviews as a matter of principle, and believe that negative critiques should be an opportunity for improvement. However, if there were a bluepeint for inferior customer service combined with a superior craftmanship for the upselling of unnecessary and substandard eguipment, it would be drawn from this brick-and-mortar location. Unskilled and poorly trained floor sales associates with only a layman's knowledge of their products and even less of a grasp on basic business phone etiquette means you had better be a technical guru if you're in the market for a new device. They do, however, excel in two areas: (1)making sure the customer has spent more than originally budgeted for irrelevant or redundant add-ons and (2) possessing a total lack of responsibility post-purchase should something go wrong with your device. Warranty? Hah! This staff and management will bend over backwards to get you to use the "insurance" they encourage you to purchase at checkout (which at the basic price is a total waste of money since it covers nothing the manufacturers' warranty does not ). I don't know if these issues are unique to this location or systemic throughout the chain; but the careful consumer should make note of the $20 million settlement Office Depot recently paid for deceptive practices which can be researched on the Better Business Bureau's website. Frankly, you've been forewarned. There are too many other big box options for electronic devices that offer legitimate expertise and follow-up support for you to throw away your money at this location. One caveat: the Remote Technical Support Services is staffed with efficient, professional, and friendly associates. It is telling that this capable department regularly expresses frustration with their brick-and-mortar counterparts.

Very poor customer service. No one is cross trained (for example register AND copies), so lines build up while employees and managers just stand around helplessly. Spoke with manager after waiting over 45 minutes only to be told he WAS trained to help me, but had to watch the floor instead.

*This review reflects on the corporation and Not the store. Discovered today that Office Depot/Office Max will NOT ALLOW their employees to wear gloves or masks. With the amount of people these employees come in contact with, they should be allowed to protect themselves.

I was told I couldn’t print personal educational material because it was copyrighted. Even the manager told me that was the policy. But it’s HIS policy because after confirming with other stores, Office Depot accepts no liability for the use of what is printed, therefore it’s really none of their business. I confirmed with corporate and they sent me this policy. They even apologized because they said this location gets complaints often! Teachers go here all the time to print. I just happened to be going out of town and had to print something. It was shadows that said “guess the shadow”. I even stated what it was going to be used for and they offered me no solution. Other store managers have confirmed this is not protocol and they are very surprised that I was told this at any location. Everyone had an attitude once they realized I was confused about the policy. I had to buy a printer from their location to take on the road on the way to another city just so I could print a game. Here is the policy forwarded to me from corporate- which they have grossly misinterpreted and make no apologies for their error. Can I use copyrighted material? Answer: Customers must represent and warrant that they own the rights, or have obtained the rights, to use any logo, trademark, service mark, artwork, name, photograph, statement, illustration or any other intellectual property to be placed on the products purchased on this website. Office Depot® accepts no liability for the unauthorized use of any art, logo, trademark or copyright printed on any item ordered by the customer. The customer agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Office Depot® from any claims, suits or actions alleging that any artwork supplied by the customer violates or infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party.
