Retail Stores The Retail Stores Division of Office Depot has more than 1,000 stores throughout the United States and Canada. As a college recruit in retail, you can begin your career as a College Management Trainee. This position was created to transition new college hires into store operations. The initial training period is six weeks, followed by a four-month development plan with first supervisory assignment. Upon completion of the program, the Trainee will have gained knowledge of People Management, Inventory Management, Merchandising, our Sales and Customer Service principles, Business Technology, Copy and Print Center, and more. The objective of the Management Training program is to develop the new employee's skills and competencies necessary to become a successful Assistant Manager. Supply Chain The Office Depot Distribution Division provides order fulfillment in support of our contract and residential delivery customers. The division includes 20 distribution centers with pick and pack operations, located across the United States. In addition, 12 Cross-Dock distribution facilities replenish our retail stores. These facilities utilize sophisticated logistics management and distribution processes to facilitate the movement of products from vendor locations to Office Depot stores. Our associates take pride in performing their job at the highest possible service level and satisfying our internal and external customers. After completing our training program, college recruits in our Distribution Division will become Distribution Center/Cross-Dock Supervisors. This role manages a specific department (customer service, receiving, inventory control, production or transportation) and provides front-line supervision to a small to medium sized group of hourly employees. The Supervisor is a key member of the leadership team within the facility. He or she can expect to receive ongoing training in leadership development and technical skills to help ensure professional growth and the highest level of service to our customers. Corporate departments at our Delray Beach, Florida headquarters provide inventory, finance, engineering, transportation, and operations support. These departments offer a wide range of entry level positions for recent college graduates. Corporate Office Office Depot headquarters offers entry level opportunities within Human Resources, Legal, Finance, Marketing, Merchandising, Real Estate, and Operations. Many of these openings titled, analyst, specialist, representative, or support functions offer a great way to start your career with a Fortune 500 company. Merchandising Start your path to a successful career in Merchandising by joining our Merchandising Planning Department located at our Corporate Headquarters in Delray Beach, Florida. You will begin your career as a Merchandise Planning Analyst where you will be responsible for performing qualitative and quantitative analysis for all our business channels including stores, business services, e-commerce, and catalog. You will create fact-based recommendations to define product category strategies, merchandising tactics, and specific business initiatives. You will work with cross-functional teams to define the business needs and ensure implementation and alignment while receiving frequent guidance and direction from the Manager of Merchandise Planning. If you possess outstanding analytical and statistical skills and are proficient in Microsoft Access and Excel, then this position may be just what you're looking for.
