Whether you need to remotely print a document while you're running from errand to errand, enjoy online streaming services on a smart TV or video chat with extended family across the country, a wired router or wired network adapter provide Internet access throughout a house or small office. Enjoy fast networking speeds, so data-intensive files can be transferred without any issues.

Wired Adapters

It's easy to give computers and other devices wired connectivity using a wired network adapter, which comes in various forms to accommodate different devices and networking needs. A standard wired network adapter plugs into the USB port of a desktop computer or laptop, transforming the USB port into either a 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet or 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet port. Choose a wired networking card to turn a PCI slot into an Ethernet port, giving PCI-enabled clients, servers or workstations the ability to connect to the Internet. Lastly, powerline adapters plug into an available wall outlet to establish a wired network, so gaming consoles and other devices can access the Web.

Wired Routers

Most households and offices have several electronic devices that are capable of connecting to the Internet. By installing a wired router, it's easy to access the Web on laptops, tablets, smartphones, smart TVs and more. A landline networking connection delivers stable, steady signals with a high level of security. Before selecting a wired router, consider how many Ethernet ports you need. Most wired routers come with four ports, but options with eight ports are available for multi-computer setups.
